I think I forgot to add one item from last weeks class: students read poems they wrote for English class during the Read Around in my class. This shows they must not share in ELA.
Another item on my mind is the damage I saw in Battle Creek today. My husband drove through Battle Creek on Columbia. The damage was extreme. I know my students will want to share their stories. Unfortunately, I do not have any time to do this in Social Studies. As we drove through the distruction of the high winds, I was hoping students would have an outlet to share their stories in English class.
